Elephant and Baboon Rickshaw Sculpture
Kwa - Zulu Natal is the home of the rickshaw. Thabo Mbhele’s spectacular Elephant carriage transports masked baboons. The sculptor's vision of tourism in our "new normal ", a masked baboon family enjoy a truly African experience in a rickshaw adorned with tusks and pulled by a spectacular elephant. This sculpture is filled with detail which the artist has enhanced with a bold choice of colour and patterns including the use of gold luster on the elephant and his harness giving it a sense of luxury.
