About this artwork
Betty Ntshingila renowned for mastery in bird sculpting made this extraordinary sweet dish, with an upturned bateleur holding up the dish with its claws. The brim is artfully carved of eagle heads forming a carousel. Nozipho Ntshalintsali's intricate patterning on the birds and inner dish amplifies the realism on this artwork. She used naturalistic colours of bold reds, yellows, blacks and greys with a touch of chestnut browns and white.
Made by Betty Ntshingila and painted by Nozipho Ntshalintsali
Dimensions: H; 23m L; 24cm W; 24cm
