Octavia Mazibuko has created this exceptional form of a vase with a stand that depicts the imperiled rhino's horns centered with a crocodile on its back symbolizing ancient wisdom and longevity. A vessel rises from the crocodiles abdomen reminding us of new life. The talented Relebohile Tjakata painted the crocodile in forest greens and intricately painted brilliant patterning that is boarded by a sacred geometric design called the 'egg of life' where the circular shapes represent the egg and the chevrons represent a male form implanting life.
