Elephant Safety Sculpture
Alex Sibanda has taken inspiration from religious imagery to craft this tribute to safety and the family unit. The hut that sits on top of the elephant is shaped in the traditional conical shape that is often seen in Western KwaZulu Natal and the mother and father pray for safety while the trusty elephant matriarch guides them on safe passage.
Sthabiso Hadebe has taken inspiration from the fauna and flora of the African bush and chosen a palette of navy and azure to signify the peace and stability that the matriarch brings to her herd.
