About this artwork

Expertly sculpted by Sifiso Mvelase and intricately painted by Sbusiso Mbatha, these candle holders showcase the curiosity, bravery and cheekiness of the Baboon and the power and courage of the Leopard; both of which are traits Ardmore possesses in abundance. The palm trees are painted in a palette of lime greens and greys, with exciting pops of colour on the animals. In this collectable set, the Leopards stalk the Baboons around the palm tree in a timeless and exquisite representation of the constant dance of life and death.

Artists behind the piece

Each Ardmore ceramic piece is a collaborative process – from the design sketches, to moulding the clay, to painting. These are the artists who created this work.

Ardmore's mark of authenticity

For collectors to identify an original Ardmore work of art, please look for the lowercase 'a' that is stamped into the bottom of the ceramic pieces, as well as a hand-painted mark.
