Praying Mantis Coin Dish

 Octavia Mazibuko's coin dish features  a praying mantis perched on a sculpted branch that curves around the edge of the coin dish. Widely revered in Africa, the praying mantis is considered good luck in some cultures.  Artist Zinhle Nene has brought a sense of drama to the piece with her dramatic colour palette. The black background intensifies the effect of the stunning aloes which decorate the base of the coin dish
