Sidney Nyabeze

Sidney Nyabeze was born in Harare, Zimbabwe on May 18, 1969. His father is a Unitarian Evangelist while his mother worked on a farm and took care of her eight children. In early 2011, Sidney moved to Ardmore Ceramic Art.

“I am stimulated by the variety and quality of the work being produced at Ardmore. I am very appreciative of the professional, individual guidance I receive from Fée Halsted” states Sidney.

In his spare time, Sydney paints his canvases and has enjoyed worldwide sales. Some of his paintings have been exhibited at the Harare National Gallery in Zimbabwe. In the second half of 2011, he was chosen to paint wooden bowls on the theme of ‘stewardship’ for the Oware/Aware exhibition at Kirstenbosch (a project of “Art Works for Change” ) featuring artists from six South African art collectives.

Fée Halsted mentions, “Sidney has incredible drawing skills and his portraits of his fellow artists at Ardmore are on permanent display in the Bonnie Ntshalintshali Museum at Caversham. Sidney is always adabtable and I thoroughly enjoy working on new projects with him and he is always ready for a new challenge.”
