Ardmore × Londolozi
At Ardmore, we have always believed that the most meaningful stories deserve to be preserved in art. It is therefore an immense privilege to collaborate with Londolozi as they celebrate their centenary, a milestone that honours one hundred years of conservation, family, heritage and an extraordinary relationship with the African wilderness.
The collaboration began with a very special artwork: a monumental ceramic lantern, created for Londolozi's magnificent new library at Tree Camp. More than a sculptural centrepiece, the lantern stands as a beacon of Londolozi's enduring legacy, a symbol of light, storytelling and the remarkable history that has shaped one of Africa's most revered safari destinations. From this landmark masterpiece, an entire ceramic collection was born.
Every artwork in the collection draws inspiration from the story of the Mother Leopard, the legendary leopard whose trust transformed the relationship between humans and wild animals. More than the matriarch of twelve cubs, she became the symbolic heart of Londolozi, allowing generations of trackers and guests an unprecedented glimpse into the intimate world of a wild leopard. Her story, immortalised in The Silent Hunter (1986), helped shape Londolozi into one of the world's most celebrated wildlife destinations and inspired a new understanding of conservation built on patience, trust and respect.
This collection is not only a tribute to a phenomenal leopard, but to the shared spirit of Londolozi itself. Its wildlife, landscapes, iconic Leopard Orchid, and enduring philosophy of living in harmony with nature are woven throughout every sculpture and vessel. Each artpiece reflects the stories, memories and deep sense of place that have defined Londolozi for a century.
For Ardmore, this collaboration is a celebration of two proudly South African families united by a shared belief that stories have the power to connect us, to one another, to the natural world, and to future generations. Through clay, we preserve these stories, ensuring that the legacy of the Mother Leopard, and the spirit of Londolozi, will continue to inspire for years to come.
Proceeds of sales from this collection will be donated to Tracker Academy and the Good Work Foundation.
