Mako came to South Africa after hearing about opportunities at Ardmore from his brother. Mentored by sculptor Reentseng Molapo, he has developed a passion for ceramic sculpture and is grateful for the opportunity to learn both art and sculpting. His work reflects the strength, movement and character of the natural world.

Having embarked on a fresh journey as a sculptor last year, Mako continues to develop his skills and artistic confidence with each passing day. His growing talent and creativity are reflected in the exciting medium-sized ceramic works he is beginning to produce, as he explores new forms and brings his own artistic expression to Ardmore's sculptural tradition.
