Nozipho Primrose Ntshalintshali

Drawing upon those early experiences, Nozipho is developing her own celebrity with a flair for design and pattern. She expertly controls her brush; her steady hand produces a clear fine line and intricate detail. She prefers to paint in the patterned decorative style of other women from the Nene family, using techniques similar to those employed in Zulu beading and basketry.

Nozipho’s love for her work, the colour combinations she uses, and her patience emerges in everything she produces. Nozipho’s works are always included in international exhibitions and she has developed an enthusiastic base of collectors.
She is a prime example of multiple generations of the same family working and thriving at Ardmore. Nozipho painted an amazing Crocodile Rider for the ‘Just So Crocodiles and Other Curiosities Exhibition’ in 2013 (Hyde Park, Charles Greig).

In 2018 Nozipho painted mesmerizing Horus candle holders for the ‘Kingdoms of Africa’ exhibition in Johannesburg. In 2019 Nozipho’s beautiful blue and white Jug, and Camp Critter vase were show cased at the Cellars ‘Sabie’ exhibition in Cape Town.

Nozipho’s tortoise patterns and elephant tureens have been used for the new Cole & Son Wallpaper in collaboration with Ardmore Ceramics.
