As the nephew of pioneering Ardmore artist Bonnie Ntshalintshali, Thobani grew up surrounded by creativity and was inspired to continue his family's remarkable artistic tradition. Mentored by Victor Mtshali, he is grateful for the opportunity to carry his aunt's legacy into a new generation through ceramic sculpture.

Over the past year, Thobani has developed into a remarkably talented sculptor, with a particular flair for capturing monkeys and baboons. His meticulous attention to detail and understanding of the anatomy and movement of these African primates bring his sculptures to life. With a playful touch, he beautifully captures their cheeky expressions and mischievous personalities, creating pieces full of character, charm and energy.
